Pinton sardines

The sardine is a small saltwater fish that measures between 12 and 25 centimetres depending on the species. It belongs to the same family as herring. It is a small fish that lives in the open sea and moves in schools. It has been eaten since ancient times and its strong taste is very much appreciated by some gourmets. It contains a large number of beneficial nutrients and therefore deserves to be placed on our tables as often as possible.

Health profile
Sardine is a fatty fish that contains certain active ingredients with interesting health effects, the main one being undoubtedly its content of omega-3 fatty acids. Not to mention the nutrients contained in this fish, such as calcium, selenium, phosphorus, vitamin D and B group vitamins, making it a food that should be included in our diet more often.

A 100 g serving of fresh sardines provides about 160 calories, including almost 25 g of protein. Canned sardines are a little more caloric (210 calories per 100 g serving) and you should obviously avoid consuming the oil in which they are immersed. They are an excellent source of omega-3, the good fats that play a role in the prevention of vascular disease and certain cancers. Sardines also contain: vitamins B3, B12 and D and mineral salts: calcium, phosphorus, iron, selenium, zinc and copper.

According to research, vitamin D in the form of calcitriol has an impact on cell activity. The slightest imbalance in the cell cycle promotes the development of cancer. But the vitamin D in sardine fish helps to fight cell cycle imbalance, and therefore reduces the risk of getting cancer.

Sardines can be a great help if you want to lose weight. This fish helps the human body to burn calories very quickly. A fitness program combined with a healthy diet may help you reach your weight loss goals. So don’t forget to include sardines in your diet in case you want to lose weight.
