Coffee
Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world.
What is the composition of coffee?
A cup of coffee essentially contains caffeine, vitamins, minerals (potassium, sodium, magnesium…) and phenolic acid with antioxidant properties, like green tea.
How to make coffee beans?
Pour the coffee beans into a blender and turn it on to grind the beans as finely as possible. You probably won’t be able to get a fine powder, at most a medium-fine powder, but it will be enough if you have an electric coffee maker or a plunger coffee maker.
How do I consume coffee?
Coffee can be consumed in different ways:
As a drink: the traditional black coffee, decaffeinated coffee, coffee with milk, flavoured coffee (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg…), iced coffee, coffee frappé (a mixture of coffee and ice), mocha coffee (a mixture of coffee and chocolate), devil’s coffee (a mixture of coffee and chillies)…
In cooking: coffee is used in many desserts (coffee cream, coffee éclair, tiramisu, coffee granita, iced coffee mousse…), confectionery (coffee praline, coffee truffle…) or to make sauces (coffee duck breast, coffee filet mignon…).
