Beef suya
(not to be confused with soya) is a grilled meat skewer prepared in the Hausa tradition. Variations can be found in several West African countries; suya or sooya in Nigeria, chichinga in Ghana. Suya street vendors set up stands on every corner of bustling African capitals, even where meat is expensive. Traditional suya is made with beef, but grilled lamb or chicken are also extremely popular.
Whether with Kankan or Kankankan seasoning, meat lovers will be delighted. Afritibi suggests an original Suya recipe made with peanut powder, ground ginger, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and White Penja Pepper. Just add a touch of olive oil from Morocco, and be prepared for an explosion of flavor. Afritibi Market offers already marinated soy sauce. Place the skewers directly on the grill for a barbecue party or roast it in the oven to serve in sandwiches.
