Recipe for Crispy Donuts with a Donut Iron
1 tablespoon cornstarch (cornstarch)
1 glass of milk
1 level tablespoon caster sugar
1 bag of vanilla
Flour (between 200 and 250 g as an indication)
Oil for frying
assila or icing sugar
Break and beat the eggs well in a bowl.
Add the milk, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla sugar and beat well.
Add the flour as you go along, spoon by spoon (the quantity of flour is for information only). The consistency must be neither liquid nor thick.
Heat the frying oil in a deep frying pan or small saucepan.
When the oil is hot and not smoking, dip the mould in it to heat it up.
Remove it and dip it immediately afterwards, but only halfway into the dough, a thin film of which will adhere to the pan.
Take it out and dip it a second time in the fryer and, thus, leave a few seconds.
The dough will come out of the pan. Let it brown and drain.
Repeat the operation until all the dough is used up.
Serve sprinkled with icing sugar or drizzled with honey.
Do not use all the dough, take another bowl and pour as you go, so as not to damage the dough with the heat of the iron.
Divide the indicated quantities by two if you do not wish to prepare them for a snack.
